China, the USA, Canada, Russian, Germany, and Sweden are the top producers globally. In 2018, the production of sawn wood in the aforementioned countries was 90.3 million m3, 82.1 million m3, 46.8 million m3, 42.7 million m3, 23.7 million m3, 18.3 million m3 respectively. As well as being the largest producers, China and the USA are also the two main consumers of sawn wood.

Asia-Pacific is the Largest Importer of Sawn Wood

In 2018, China imported 38 million m? of sawn wood. By value the total sawn wood imports by Asia was valued at USD 18.5 billion, Eastern Asia imported sawn wood worth USD 13.62 billion, and Western Asia imported 1.83 billion worth products in 2018. By volume, Asia imported 65.5 million m3 of sawn wood, Central Asia imported 4.50 million m3, Eastern Asia imported 47.4 m3 products.
