Companies worldwide adopt cloud computing solutions to focus on their core business activities. The responsibility and accountability for complex IT tasks, therefore, rests with the cloud service providers. Many SMEs prefer public cloud service as vendors connect their systems to their organization's IT systems. Therefore, in-house IT departments are relieved from setting up their own IT infrastructure. The SMEs are adopting SaaS and IaaS cloud services. It is expected that more small businesses will adopt cloud services in the future. Therefore, there is huge potential for cloud services to grow in Qatar during the forecast period. The huge adoption of cloud solutions among enterprises will increase the IT spending in Qatar, which bodes well for overall market growth.”
According to the report, the IT market in Qatar is expected to register double-digit growth rates in the coming years, driven by continuous financial support for tech-oriented projects such as building infrastructure for metro systems, stadiums, and other infrastructure from the government. Qatar is moving toward economic diversification and its economy is essentially driven by its abundant oil and gas resources.
Further, the report states that threats to cyber security are serious hindrances to IT adoption.
