World Market for Dimethyl Ether will Reach $6 Bn in 2017
A new report, now available on ASDReports, concludes that the world market for Dimethyl Ether will reach $6 billion in 2017. This analysis and others appear in the Dimethyl Ether (DME) Market Report 2017-2027: Market Value ($) & Volume (KT) Forecasts by Raw Materials (Coal, Methanol, Natural Gas, Bio Based), Application (LPG Blending, Aerosol Propellant, Transportation Fuel, Welding & Brazing, Other) Plus Regional Forecasts and Leading Company Analysis published by the key player.

Dimethyl ether (DME), also known as methoxymethane, is the organic compound, which is a colourless gas with a faint ethereal odour. In general, it is used for blending in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in a predefined proportion to improve its burning properties and also to reduce the deficit of LPG in various countries. It is also used as an aerosol propellant and as a precursor to other chemical compounds. DME has also proved its potential to replace diesel and can also be employed for power generation due to its clean burning properties. DME can be manufactured from various feedstock including coal, natural gas, methanol, and bio based feedstock.

LPG Blending is one of the largest submarkets; while the transportation fuel application market has the smallest market share. LPG blending and aerosol propellant applications together consume the majority of the total DME demanded in 2016. A significant amount of DME was consumed for LPG blending in China and demand from the aerosol propellant segment was strong in European countries.

Asia-Pacific will be the largest Dimethyl Ether market with a share in terms of value, of the global market in 2017. Asia-Pacific is projected to register one of the highest growth rate between 2017-2027. DME has the potential to be a reliable alternate of propane in LPG and as a diesel substitute; this has created an opportunity for various counties to reduce their dependence on LPG imports. Presently, China is the major consumer of DME for blending it with LPG and other countries such as South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Egypt, etc. are developing strategies so as to reduce their energy needs on oil & gas resources.

This 141 page report contains 151 tables, charts and graphs that add visual analysis in order to explain developing trends within the DME market. The key player provides forecasts for the period 2017 to 2027 in terms of value (US$) for the DME market. In addition, 10 submarkets are forecasted and analysed over the period 2017 to 2027 by application, (LPG Blending, Aerosol Propellant, Transportation Fuel, Welding & Brazing, Other Applications) and by raw material (Coal, Methanol, Natural Gas and Bio-Based DME).
