The Key Players in Global Satellite Ground Station Equipment Market 2016-2020
The report, now available on ASDReports, recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global satellite ground station equipment market 2016-2020: GILAT SATELLITE NETWORKS, Harris CapRock, Hughes Network Systems, ViaSat, and VT iDirect.

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Clyde Space, Communications & Power Industries LLC, Comtech Telecommunications, Gigasat, GomSpace, Inmarsat, Innovative solutions in Space, ND SatCom, Newtec, Norsat International, ORBCOMM, Safran, SatNOGS, SpaceQuest, Teledyne Paradise Datacom, Terrasat Communications, Terrestar Network, and Wood & Douglas.

Commenting on the report, an analyst said: “A trend which is playing a big role in boosting market growth is government initiatives for effective communication services. Governments across the globe are taking initiatives to increase the overall penetration of the internet and voice-based services. Governments of various countries are also mandating cellular operators to incorporate the universal service obligation, which enables them to take advantage of the low cost and faster rollout of VSAT services, thereby empowering rural customers to use VSAT communications. In certain challenging geographical locations, it becomes difficult for the terrestrial vendors to provide services because of the absence of infrastructure or the high cost involved in developing the infrastructure with rapid break-even time for their investment.”

According to the report, a key growth driver is the increased demand for HTS. High throughput satellite (HTS) systems are technological systems that optimize the use of the available spectrum to deliver high-speed internet access and a wide range of VAS such as VoIP, video conferencing, distance learning, and digital signage. HTS uses numerous small spot beams distributed across a particular service area. These beams help the satellite establish links to small apertures in Earth stations at high data rates.

Further, the report states that one challenge that could restrict market growth is the complex installation process. Even a one-degree error in the alignment of the VSAT dish could translate into an alignment error of more than 600 kilometers away from the satellite. Hence, each terminal installation job represents a time-consuming and complicated process for enterprises.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
