According to the report, one of the main drivers of the market is the high penetration of mobile services in certain countries. Among the emerging countries in the APAC region, the popularity of mobile devices is the highest in Southeast Asia. For instance, 7 of 11 countries in Southeast Asia have more than 100 percent mobile services penetration.
Further, the report states that one of the major challenges is the lack of awareness about LBS among enterprises and individual consumers. Many SMEs or potential mobile advertisers are unaware of location-based advertising and campaigning. Many potential LBS users adopt this service only to a limited extent because of language barriers.
