Global Packaging Survey 2013 Economic Outlook in BRIC
According to the survey results, packaging industry buyer and supplier respondents acknowledge India and China as the key BRIC countries for their current business operations; additionally, 49% and 41% of buyer respondents identified they also carry out business dealings in Brazil and Russia respectively. Furthermore, 80% of respondents from Asia-Pacific declare that they currently operate their business in India.

According to the survey, the highest percentages of respondents from the global packaging industry buyer and supplier segment expect an increase in business volumes with BRIC in 2013. Furthermore, respondents from North America, Europe, and the Rest of the World anticipate business volumes in Brazil to grow more in comparison with other BRIC countries in 2013, while respondents from Asia-Pacific gave significance to India.

In total, the highest percentage of buyer and supplier respondents state that their companies are currently doing business with India and China respectively. The survey reveals that 86% and 67% of global packaging industry buyer and supplier respondents forecast an increase in business volumes with Brazil. Poor infrastructure is highlighted as a key barrier for business dealings with India in 2013 by global packaging industry buyer and supplier respondents.
